Flourishing Congregations In Canada … and Your Church Workshop
- Upcoming & Annual Events
- 11.03.2018 9:00 am - 3:00 pm
Why are people leaving Canadian churches and should we expect them to return? Where are the signs of life and vitality in Canadian churches, and what can we learn from these congregations? And why are some families and congregations more effective than others at passing on the faith from one generation to the next? We will turn to empirical research to address these questions in a Canadian context, setting the stage for conversation on what all of this research might mean for your local church.
This gathering builds on research, in part, from the Flourishing Congregations Institute at Ambrose University in Calgary, Alberta – a Canadian-based research Institute devoted to studying congregations across the Christian spectrum (Catholic, mainline, and conservative Protestant), and sharing such findings in ecumenical spaces where those from various theological traditions come together to learn and network together.
Sessions to include:
1) Leaving the Church – why are people leaving the church and will they come back?
2) Flourishing Congregations
3) Passing on the Faith from one generation to the next.
